Obituary of Yvonne Patricia Ann Hillmer

Yvonne Patricia Ann Hillmer of Assiniboia, SK, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the age of 71 years. Yvonne was born on October 29, 1940, in the Assiniboia district, to Frank and Beatrice Girvin. Yvonne grew up on a farm northeast of Assiniboia in the Hawley district and attended Hawley School for grades one through eight; she finished her schooling in Assiniboia. Yvonne was employed by the Assiniboia Credit Union for eleven years. In 1967, Yvonne married Rod Hillmer and they were blessed with three sons, Greg, Jason and Randy. She is survived by her loving husband Rod of 44 years; son Greg, grandchildren Zachery and Blayze; son Jason (Tammy Richmond); son Randy (Susan Berner), grandchildren Keaton, Charlize and Houston; mother Beatrice Girvin; sister Lynda (Les) Williams; mother-in-law Williamina Hillmer; sister-in-law Darla (Pete) Ackerman; brother-in-law Brian (Brenda) Hillmer; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her father Frank Girvin; father-in-law Victor Hillmer; brother-in-law Garth Hillmer. Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from the Assiniboia Alliance Church, with Pastor Greg Dermody officiant. The eulogy was shared by Lynda Williams. Pianist was Heather Delorme. Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren Zachery, Blayze, Keaton, Charlize and Houston. Interment took place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Assiniboia, SK. Memorial Tributes in memory of Yvonne to the South Country Health Care Foundation Assiniboia Palliative Care Unit, Box 1750, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0, were greatly appreciated.
