Obituary of Stephen Constantine Dumba

Steve Constantine Dumba of Assiniboia, SK, passed away on May 12, 2012, at the age of 65 years. Steve was born in Dysart, Saskatchewan on March 19, 1947 to Andrew and Dina Dumba. He attended Gardiner Rural School and Dysart High School. Steve also attended University of Saskatchewan before embarking on his long-standing career in the Automotive Industry. Cars were a passion for Steve. His career in the automotive industry was long and varied and Steve met many people and made many friends at work. He was a hard worker and a very skilled salesman and an excellent manager; Steve knew the business in and out. Through his career Steve met Gwen Klein-Harper. Both Gwen and his career brought him to Assiniboia approximately 10 years ago. In Assiniboia Steve made many new friends. Assiniboia turned into his home and he cared deeply about the community. Steve, we will miss you, you left us far too soon. Steve is predeceased by his parents Andrew and Dina Dumba. He is survived by his partner and best friend Gwen Klein-Harper; family dog Zoey; his daughter Kim (Justin) Bugera; step daughter Delee Harper (Court); step son Jason Harper (Nicole); step son Cori Harper; grandchildren Jayson and Kaiden Bugera; step grandchildren Alexis, Zaida, Olivia, Mardi, Cruz, Cody, Antony and Nickolas; brothers Andy (Dianne) Dumba and Percy (Brenda) Dumba; very special lady, second mother Irene Klein; in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass held on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. from St. George Roman Catholic Church, Assiniboia, SK. Co-celebrants were Father Joy Montiague and Father Prince Kurisinkal. The pascal candle was lit by Andy Dumba. Readers were Rob Dumba and Nicole Mytroen. Intentions and offertory gifts were given by Delee Harper. The eulogy was shared by Percy Dumba. Soloist Scott Heatcoat was accompanied by organist Gail Delorme. Urn bearers were Gwen Klein-Harper and Rob Greensides. Honorary pallbearers were the Nelson GM Staff. Tributes in Steve’s memory to South Country Health Care Foundation, Box 1750, Assiniboia, SK S0H 0B0 and the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics, 950 28th Ave. W., Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4 were greatly appreciated.
