Obituary of Rita Bonneau

Marie Helene Rose "Rita” Bonneau of Gravelbourg, SK passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the age of 87 years. Rita was born on September 19, 1924, in Coderre, SK. She was the third child of Henri and Marie (nee Fortin) Bonneau. Rita attended school in Coderre. She work at St. Joseph Hospital in the dietary department where her career span for 29 years. Rita enjoyed crocheting, knitting, playing bingo and watching game shows. She also loved to take pictures and found great comfort listening to music. Family and friends were very dear to Rita and she cherished spending time with them. She will be dearly missed. Rita is survived by her loving family, brother Armand (Yvette) Bonneau; sister Madeleine (Leo) Braconnier; sister Juliette Chevrier; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Henri and Marie (nee Fortin); sister Yvette (Frank) Huppee; sister Therese (Lawrence) Hewson; brother-in-law Albert Chevrier. Prayers were held on Monday, July 2, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. and Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., both from Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Father Joseph Strohhofer celebrant. Cross bearer was Juliette Chevrier. Readers were Danielle Christensen and Claire Levac. Intentions were shared by Skyla Chevrier, Jillian Weed and Ellen Costly. Offertory gifts were presented by Marianne, Roger, Stewart and Richard Chevrier. Soloist Henri Lepage was accompanied by organist Leona Bourgeois. Skyla Chevrier and Jillian Weed sang "Amazing Grace”. Honorary pallbearers were "Home Care Staff.” Active pallbearers were Richard Chevrier, Andre Chevrier, Danny Therrien, Tanner Weed, Roger Stewart and Greg Timms. Interment – Gravelbourg Roman Catholic Cemetery. Memorial tributes in memory of Rita to St. Joseph Hospital/Foyer d’Youville Foundation, Box 810, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, were greatly appreciated.
