Obituary of Marie Anna DELORME

Marie Anna Delorme of Rockglen, SK, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2012, at the age of 103 years. Marie was born in Cantal, SK, on June 15, 1909 to Arthur and Marie (nee Demers) Emond. Marie attended school and worked on the family farm. Marie met Joe Beaudin in 1926 and they were together for seven years. Marie and Joe were blessed with five children before they separated. Marie married Dave LeChasseur in February 1935 and together they had five children. Marie and Dave made their home in Meadow Lake before moving to Waterhen Lake, where they had a mink ranch and general store. In 1950 Marie and Dave moved to Buffalo Narrows, where they had a grocery store, café, hotel rooms and a beef parlor. Dave passed away in 1966 and Marie sold their business in 1973. Marie then lived in Prince Albert, Hudson Bay and Meadow Lake. While in Meadow Lake she was reintroduced to her childhood sweetheart, Leo Delorme. Marie and Leo were married in 1980, making their home in Rockglen and later Assiniboia. Marie fondly recalled her 12 years with Leo as the best years of her life. Marie continued to live in Assiniboia for few more years after Leo passed away, before relocating to the Rolling Hills Lodge in Rockglen. Several years later she moved to Lisieux to live with her daughter Annette before moving to a care home in Willow Bunch. The care home Marie was living at closed three years later and she moved to the Prairie Villa in Assiniboia. In 2005, Marie was a participant in the ribbon cutting when the Villa had their grand opening. The last four years of her life Marie lived at the Grasslands Health Centre in Rockglen. Marie treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren and loved her family very much. Marie will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her family and friends. Marie is survived by her loving family, daughters Dianne Stein, Annette Beaudin, Bertha Helm, Yvonne Crothers; sons David Beaudin, Leon LeChasseur, Noel LeChasseur; brother Albert Emond.
