Obituary of Brian Gerald CSADA

Brian Gerald Csada of Moose Jaw, SK, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at the age of 59 years. Brian was born on March 22, 1953 in Calgary, AB, the youngest child of Wilfred and Irene (nee Mayer) Csada. In 1955 the family moved to Irene’s home farm, and this became Brian’s home for the majority of his life. On the farm there were chickens, pigs, cattle and horses. Brian didn’t like gathering eggs or cleaning the pig pens; farm animals were not his thing. Brian attended elementary school in Glen Bain, SK and high school in Kincaid, SK. In 1965 his father bought him a ’65 Honda motorcycle, which sparked Brian’s lifelong love for motorcycles. Brian grew up with music in his family and in the early 60’s his parents bought Brian and Lyle a drum set to share. Brian began playing drums with his family’s orchestra, "Bill and the Csada’s”, when he was eleven years old. He also played for Joan Bramall and the Country Gold , Bob Regan when he played at the TNC Lounge in Gravelbourg, and then with the OV Band, later becoming The Notukeu. After taking an Automotive Technician Course at S.T.I. in Moose Jaw, Brian worked in Regina at the Federated Co-op and then in Assiniboia at Orban Motors before starting to farm full-time with his brother and father in 1973. In July of that year Brian married Linda Lightbody and they were blessed with three children, Darren, Kevin and Christa. Brian enjoyed his children’s many activities, such as piano lessons, guitar lessons, school sports, hockey for Darren and Kevin, and skating for Christa. When the children were old enough, the family started going on camping, fishing and boating trips, which were the highlight of the summer for Brian. Many great times were spent waterskiing at different parks in Saskatchewan. There were also Mayer Family Reunions every three years that they attended, bringing the camper, boat and tents. Brian could always be found helping in the kitchen or cleaning the hall. Brian had a great sense of humor, was always willing to help people out and had a big heart. He loved farming, and in the later years he enjoyed working with his children on the farm. Brian will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and the flavor that he has added to their lives will be remembered forever. Brian is survived by Linda; son Darren (Brittany) Csada, granddaughter Addison; son Kevin (Lauren) Csada; daughter Christa; brother Lyle (Rita) Csada and family; father-in-law Bill Lightbody. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Irene Csada (2008); mother-in-law Irene Lightbody (1988). Lutheran Funeral Service was held on Thursday, November 6, 2912, at 2:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK, with Pastor Chad Moir officiant. The eulogy was shared by Lyle and Rita Csada and family. Readers were Vicki Csada and Shelley McCrea. Urn bearers were Darren, Kevin, Christa and Addison. Interment took place at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Brian to the Foyer d’Youville Palliative Care Room, Box 810, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, were greatly appreciated.
