Obituary of Marlene Anna-Marie KUFFNER

Marlene Anna-Marie Kuffner (nee Czernick) passed away peacefully into the arms of God, after a long battle with cancer, on December 1, 2012, at the age of 67 years. Marlene enjoyed nothing more than long conversations on the phone or internet with friends and family. She was very involved in her building; she enjoyed the many social events put on and was proud of the flower bed she helped create there. Marlene’s love for nature can be seen in her paintings that grace her family’s homes. Never short of something to do, Marlene loved sewing, knitting, painting and needlework, and teaching these skills to others. She spent most of her life as a home care worker and provided comfort to others. Marlene was a cowgirl at heart; she loved watching a good rodeo and being around horses. Marlene lived vicariously through her son Jason when he was on the road trucking, Phillip and his cows, her nephew Corey and his horses, Carmelle’s dogs, her real-estate business and activities. Carmelle and Marlene always tried to do something special and enjoyable after her many medical tests and procedures. She was tested from time to time in her life, but her faith, inner strength, humour, determination and love for life allowed her to deal with the many challenges, losses and deteriorating health. Marlene never liked goodbyes, so this is not goodbye; this is until we meet again. Marlene is survived by her son Jason Kuffner (Heather) of Glentworth, SK; daughter Chantel Kuffner and children; stepfather Phillip Jacques of Lafleche, SK; sister Lorraine Morgan of Vernon, BC; brother-in-law Lorne Ellis of Lafleche, SK; special cousin and friend Carmelle Beaudry of Regina, SK; nieces and nephews Morley (Rhonda) Ellis of Moose Jaw, SK, Randy (Renee) Ellis of Saskatoon, SK, Corey (Karen) Ellis of Melaval, SK, Tracey Ellis (Nevin Hodges) of Regina, SK, Christopher Morgan of Calgary, AB, Erin Morgan of Calgary, AB, and their children; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by her father John Czernick; mother Ellen Jacques; sister Carol Ellis. Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at Ste Radegonde Roman Catholic Church, Lafleche, SK, with Father Joseph Strohhofer officiant. The eulogy was shared by Tracey Ellis. Cross bearer was Kaitlyn Ellis. Readings were shared by Tracey Ellis and Rhonda Ellis. Prayers of the Faithful were shared by Joanne Vinish. Offertory gifts were presented by Rhonda and Morley Ellis. Musicians were Genda Crooks and Jacqueline Poirier. Urn bearers were Jason Kuffner, Lorraine Morgan and Corey Ellis. Honour guard was formed by the Ste Radegonde Catholic Comen’s League. Interment took place at the Lafleche Roman Catholic Cemetery.
