Obituary of Myrna Mae TOLLEFSON
Myrna Tollefson of Gravelbourg, SK, passed away on February 23, 2013, at the age of 90 years. Myrna was born in Yellow Grass, SK, on September 27, 1922, to Lawrence and Thirza (nee Hockley) James. Growing up in Yellow Grass, summers were spent on the family farm just outside of town. After completing her Grade 12, Myrna attended Normal School in Regina. The first school she taught at was a country school near Carlyle, SK. The next year she took a teaching position in Talmage, SK, where she met Adolph Tollefson, and they were married in the spring of the following year. Four years later their family began when their daughter Donna was born, later followed by two sons, Dale and Dean. Adolph had many vocations which took the family to several different communities, and their last move together was to Meyronne, SK. Myrna was known for her scarves and for her insistence that ladies should wear dresses on Sunday. Her faith was very important to her; in Myrna's early years she chose to be baptized by immersion and all of her life she was a member of the Church of Christ.
