Obituary of Roger Joseph BOURLON

Roger Joseph Bourlon of Ponteix, SK, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his wife, Paulette (nee LaRochelle); sons, Guy (Kathy) and Roland; daughters, Armande and Lauriane (Clint); grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Kevin, Richard (Josie), Joel, Kristine (Sean), Jessica and Kimberly; great grandchildren Erica and Zachary. Roger was predeceased by his parents, Marceau and Louise (nee Picray) Bourlon; sisters, Marie Paule (1940), Lorraine Bourlon (1940); brother, Marcel Bourlon (1940); sister, Henriette Monette; brothers, Richard Bourlon, Marcel Bourlon, Noel Bourlon, Denis Bourlon; brothers-in-law Leo Preve and Jack Monette. Roger was born in the Ponteix district on June 21, 1931, to Marceau and Louise (nee Picray) Bourlon. He grew up and lived his life in Ponteix, where he became a dedicated and loving husband and father, passionate farmer, and valuable member of the community. He was a member of the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Elks. Roger enjoyed welding and creating or repairing anything and everything he could. His favorite hobby was playing with his grandchildren. Roger was a very kind and caring person who loved to help others. He would engage anyone in a conversation, and loved to listen and gather information on just about anything. Roger will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Prayers were held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., both from the Notre Dame d'Auvergne Roman Catholic Church, Ponteix, SK. Celebrant was Father Guy Amédée Ainemon. Cross bearer was Jessica Hiebert. The paschal candle was lit by Joel Lasanté and Kevin Bourlon. Readers were Ryan Bourlon and Kelly Bourlon. Prayers of the faithful were shared by Ryan Bourlon. Offertory gifts were presented by Liliane Bourlon and Paul Bourlon. The eulogy was shared by Ryan Bourlon. Urn bearer was Richard Lasanté. Honour guard was formed by the Knights of Columbus. Interment took place at the Notre Dame Parish Cemetery, Ponteix, SK.
