Obituary of Doris ST. YVES

Doris Cecile St. Yves of Willow Bunch, SK, passed away on December 31, 2013, at the age of 85 years. Doris was born in Willow Bunch, SK on September 6, 1928. She was the second of twelve children born to Edouard and Marie-Anna (nee Durand) Dionne. She attended school in Willow Bunch and Radville, SK. On November 28, 1950, Doris married Albert St. Yves at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church in Willow Bunch. They made their home on Emile Campagne’s farm for a time before moving into town. Together they operated the Willow Bunch Dairy for many years. Doris worked at the Willow Bunch Union Hospital as a cook for many years, at A&J Hamburger Stand, and did house painting for many people. She also worked at Marcel Mondor’s Clover Leaf Store, and later leased the store in St. Victor for two years. From 1973 to 1990, Doris worked at the Pioneer Lodge in Assiniboia, SK, until she retired. Doris was an active member of the St. Ignace Church and a member of the Ladies of the Parish. Doris found great enjoyment in visiting with family and friends, and treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren. Doris is predeceased by her husband Albert (February 2, 1993); infant daughter Giselle (March 9, 1952); daughter-in-law Coleen (June 20, 2011); infant sister Jeannine (June 15, 1949); father Edouard (January 27, 1971); mother Marie-Anna (February 7, 1991); sisters Claudette Leclaire (July 29, 2002), Jeannette McBain (March 1, 2008); brothers-in-law Andre Leclaire (December 1, 2013), Romeo Martin (March 7, 2002); sister-in-law Gabrielle Dionne (June 25, 2011); brothers-in-law Bernard St. Yves (February 24, 1982), Andre St. Yves (January 25, 2011); sisters-in-law Pierrette St. Yves (August 25, 2012), Vivian St. Yves (May 12, 2000). She is survived by her son Gilles of Golden, BC; daughter Madeleine (Danny) Krauss of Torquay, SK; grandson Aaron (Angele) Krauss, great grandchildren Hunter and Paige; grandson Jared (Heather) Krauss, granddaughter Jackie (Blake) Erb; brothers Marcel (Georgette), Laurent, Robert (Pauline), Denis (Cathy), Roger (Lavinna), Claude (Marielle); sisters Laurence Martin, Laurette (Eugene) Lesperance; brothers-in-law Luke (Cecile) St. Yves, Lucien (Viviane) St. Yves; sisters-in-law Gilberte (John) Watchorn, Dolores St. Yves, Sister Jacqueline St. Yves. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Church, Willow Bunch, with Father Joy Montiague celebrant. The eulogy was shared by Gilles St. Yves. Reader was Danny Krauss. Urn bearer was Gilles St. Yves. Honorary pallbearers were "All those who shared in Doris’ life.” Interment will take place, at a later date, at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Cemetery, Willow Bunch.
