Grandma, I’m so thankful for the time I had with you! I will always remember all the fun times we had and the things you did for us when we were kids. Like when you would read stories to us form that big book With the gold lined pages and our first Easter when we moved to osoyoos, you made ty and I an entire hunt around your house (which is something I now do for my own babies) or the summers I’d come spend with you and grandpa in Assiniboia and you’d take me to bingo and let me keep my “winnings” then we’d go for ice cream after. I’m so thankful my kids got to enjoy time with their GG even if it wasn’t long enough. I hope you are at peace and that you know we love you and are doing okay. Until we meet again Love you always. <3

Grandma,
I will always cherish the memories of when I was child spending time with you in Osoyoos and when I would come to visit you in Saskatchewan. We would always do crafts in the kitchen, or watch your favorite shows like I dream of Jeanie, Bewitched and Dukes of Hazzard. I truly believe I got my interest in fantasy and all things odd in life from those days we spent together. You always tried to show me and everyone around you that cared, even if it was in your own quirky way. We might not have been as close in recent years but just know I love you and you’ll always be my Grandma. <3

Heather,
A truly warm and welcoming, beautiful soul I had but only a moment in your amazing life to know you. We shared some laughs and I was honored to hear the fantastic stories about your life.
I will miss the many thoughtful and loving texts you often sent me, the warmth of your smile, the spirit of your laugh. You will forever be in our hearts!
P.S.....if you happen to run into my mom and dad on this next journey of yours...i hope you all share a warm smile together while looking proudly down upon us and say..."Yep..those are our kids!"

Dear Heather,
I would like to send my deepest condolences to your cherished family and friends during this difficult time. Although I never had the opportunity to have met you in person, I have had the pleasure of seeing the impact your life has had first hand in the stories and memories that have been relayed to me by one of your lovely daughters, Annette.
It is in getting to know her more and more that I feel as though I have gotten to know a little part of you.
Your daughter beams when she speaks of fond memories of you and boasts of how Birthdays and other special occasions were always celebrated, without fail...year after year and most importantly, celebrated together as a family. I have also learned of your love and mastery of poetry and I hope that I have the opportunity to read some of it someday.
What a beautiful gift you have given in this life to those around you and what a wonderful legacy you have created. It is within the lives of those who you loved so dearly and touched so deeply that your lifes light will continue to glow through them and on to the people that they hold near and dear. May you rest easy knowing how much you meant to those you love and having felt unwavering and unconditional love during your time here on earth and especially in your last days.
I would like to finish by sharing a little part of a poem called The Dash.
"I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral
of a friend. He referred to the dates on the tombstone from the beginning....to the end.
He noted that first came the date of birth and spoke of the following date with tears, but he said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time they spent alive on earth and now only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own , the cars...the house...the cash. What matters is how we love and how we spend our dash..."- Linda Ellis

I have fond memories of Heather, when she would come over and the dogs would go crazy and jump all over her, they loved when she was visiting, Heather was intrigued by UFOs and space, the skies, always listening to different pod casts about the topic, we would often get into conversations over it. We would all meet up and go for lunch in Moose Jaw and talk about everything, I always enjoyed that! Losing my mother in law is so sad, I pray she is in a very happy place now, I will miss her!

Heather was an incredibly kind person, who never had a malicious or unkind thing to say about anyone. I remember how easily she would strike up a conversation with just about anyone. Many of the people she befriended were interesting, much like herself. Her personality was like a painters palate - full of colour. She had a Gypsy soul and her travels cross-country are a reflection of that. ‘Wherever I lay my hat, that’s my home’, comes to mind. She loved walking with Paul and their dog in Osoyoos, having her family with her to watch the Canada Day fireworks, or celebrate the annual Osoyoos parade and Cherry fest. She loved her scratchies, her bingo and her garage sales. 50’s, 60’s and 70’s rock n’ roll had a very special place in her heart and she loved to share that with those around - usually on some sort of tech she picked up at a garage sale for an insanely great price. Little Richard and Elvis were among her favourites, but there were many. Most memorable is her love for family. Her and Paul spent many great years together travelling and exploring wherever they chose to lay their hats. Richard, Annette and Tila meant The world to her. She always made sure they had a roof over their head and no matter how tough times were, or how far away she lived, her door was always open. Heather Courier was a very kind, loving person and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She left too soon, but you know the world is a better place wherever her hat is hanging!...my condolences to Paul, the kids and the grandchildren....((((-:

My mom was the most giving kindest person, every time we would meet up for lunch in Moose Jaw she always had a little gift or trinket for me, her love for family and friends was so strong! I will miss you mom, every day! I hope that in some way you will be with us still, especially when life's special occasions arise, Christmas, birthdays and other holidays and anniversaries will never be the same! Thank you for all the poems you wrote, they inspire me to try and write my own for others to enjoy like you did! I will never forget how gracious and excepting you were over the things you could not change, you didn't let those things stop you from living! I will always admire all the amazing qualities you had, you truly were the best mom ever! Love forever, your daughter Annette.
