They returned to live in a new house in Mossbank in 1979 and enjoyed playing cribbage at the 50 Plus Club or Legion on Friday nights. Sera and Emil celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. Emil passed away on July 29, 2000 and Sera continued to live in their house until 2009. She then moved to the Pioneer Villa in Assiniboia and a year later moved to the Assiniboia Long Term Care.
