A Private Celebration of Life Will Take Place at a Later Date

Obituary of Jane Bochek

On June 1, 2021, Jane Bochek passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina following a brief illness. Born Nov. 11, 1949 to Ab and Isobel Redekopp, Jane grew up in Kelstern, SK attending school there and later graduating in Hodgeville, where she met Bob, who would be by her side every day from then on. Though she often complained that she could never go anywhere alone, anyone who knew her knew she’d really never want it any other way.

Jane described herself as a farm wife; over the years acting as farmhand, cook/housekeeper, chicken feeder, lawn mower, truck driver, harrower, auger mover, bin cleaner, gopher poisoner, accountant and bookkeeper, even after knee replacements slowed her down a bit. While she loved working in the kitchen (many have mentioned her gingersnaps), likely her favourite ‘me time’ was on the garden tractor mowing. She took great pride in her yard and the design that ‘didn’t require a stupid push mower’! Of course, besides being a busy farm wife, Jane was also mom to 3 girls, Jody, Pam and Toni, which kept her involved helping at catechism, coaching, driving to sports, or just playing catch in the yard. She took great pride in her girls – something she stated repeatedly during her last days.

Jane is survived by her husband and lifelong love and partner, Bob, her daughters Jody Seidler - grandchildren Christian (Larissa and great grandkids Jaiden and Maddex) and Jackie Kambeitz (Tyler), Pam Bochek and Toni Owens (Bryce) - grandchildren Charlie, Miles and Katie, siblings Larry (Iline), Dale (Harold) and Wayne (Marilyn) and many nieces, nephews and godchildren.

The family will be having a private celebration of life this summer (cheers to Jane – with a rye and diet Coke!). In lieu of flowers, Jane asked that donations be made to the Salvation Army in Swift Current, or a charity of your choosing.
