Obituary of Jeannine Facette

Jeannine Angeline Marie Facette passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 79 years. She was born on September 11, 1941, on the family farm in the Gravelbourg district. Jeannine was the second of eight children born to Philemon and Yvonne (nee Lagassé) Lizee, and a twin to Aline. She attended a one-room school in the Gravelbourg district. Jeannine worked in laundry at St. Joseph Hospital in Gravelbourg until she was married. Jeannine married Marcel Facette on June 20, 1961, and they made their home in Val Marie. The following year Jeannine and Marcel moved to Gravelbourg, where they raised their family. They were blessed with five children, Louise, Diane, Cecile, Roger, and Lise. Jeannine had many hobbies, and once she mastered one would move on to the next. She enjoyed crocheting the most, continuing with this pastime even after mastering it. Jeannine worked in the home as a caregiver for mentally challenged adults, while also maintaining the finances for their backhoe and trucking company. Jeannine and Marcel made many moves because of Marcel’s work. They purchased an acreage in Blumenort where they stayed until retiring to Moose Jaw in 1999. Jeannine had so much love to give and always looked out for others. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, always making sure that everyone was happy and well-fed. She loved to cook for her family and always made sure everyone left her with a full stomach and heart. Jeannine’s smile would always light up the room and she gave great hugs, and through both her love could be felt. Jeannine was a loving and caring wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, and will be remembered for her kind heart and warm smile. Jeannine is survived by her loving family, husband Marcel of 60 years; daughter Louise (Guy) Rasch; daughter Diane (Mark) Jeffrey; daughter Cecile Facette; son Roger (Andrew Miao) Facette; daughter Lise (Corwin) Zacharias; grandchildren Erica, Kelvin (Kyla), Justin, Stephanie, Armand, Denis (Shawna), Anita, Crystal, Marcel, and Chyan; great-grandchildren Tanisha, Boston, Cody, Deja, Finnley, Kyrin; siblings Julienne Podevin, Denise (Charles) St. Jacques, Marc André (Marilyn Lynn) Lizée, and Ronald (Johanne) Lizée. Jeannine is predeceased by parents Philemon and Yvonne (nee Lagassé) Lizée; siblings Alain Lizée, Aline (Roland) Tetreault, and Cecile (Louis) Gauthier. Prayers will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, 7:30 p.m., and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 11, 2021, 10:00 a.m., both at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Memorial donations in memory of Jeannine may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK  S4P 3X1.
