Obituary of Lois Robb

Our beloved and brave Lois Robb née Velma Lois Stronach, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2021.

Born on August 19, 1926 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, she was raised in the Vantage district in a small mixed farm with fond memories of raising sheep with parents Jim and Millie Stronach and older sister, Embyl. She attended Dewdrop School, worked at the airport in Assiniboia, and at woolen mills in Kenora and Moose Jaw. Lois met Denny Robb at a dance and the two wed on June 26, 1947. Their 57 years together brought them their dearly beloved children Linda, Randy, Kate, Carolyn and Dale, and years of love and laughter at Braeside Farm, outside Mossbank.

Lois dedicated herself to her family, her friends and the farm. Her hands were busy with cooking, gardening, quilting, sewing and ever so many crafts. Many a home-grown meal were made and there were many meals in the field. Lois and Denny loved to dance and play cards, and loved to travel. Lois hauled grain and cooked during harvest, and was thrilled to have a combine ride this year on her 95th birthday.

Throughout the years, Lois was the beating heart of the family, steadfast and true after the loss of her son Randy, and the loss of her Denny in 2004.

Lois had discerning tastes and knew exactly what she liked. She loved shopping adventures, getting out and about and chatting with people, and going to visit at coffee row. Her eyes would light up with glee, and she was filled with a zest for life. She loved dogs.

Despite medical issues in later years, she bravely endured and was always interested in people. Her wit and good cheer remained with her until her passing, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her children Linda (Brett Klevgaard), Kate (Michael Hutchison; their children James (Lauren and their children Malcolm and Eleanor), Sarah Beth (Erik Deutsch and their children Briana and Everly), Robb, and Annie (John Taggart)), Carolyn Anderson and her children Kent, Brooke (Scott McMahon and their children Grady, Declan and Alexander), Cade (Elizabeth, and their children Ava and Ivy), and Dale (Aline).

Due to Covid, a remote, private family service was held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, 10:30 a.m., at the Cornerstone Gospel Church, Mossbank, SK. Welcome was shared by Brooke McMahon. The Lord’s Prayer was led by Kent Anderson. Scripture reading was read by Cade Anderson. Message by Pastor Marty Johnson. Fond memories and Psalm 23 were shared by Wendy Gibson.
