Elaine Alice Eger

June 16, 1940 - June 25, 2022

 

Elaine Alice Eger (Gillis) passed away peacefully June 25, 2022 at the age of 82 with family by her side.

 

Elaine was born June 16, 1940 to the late Lenzena and Joseph Gillis in Ponteix, Saskatchewan. 

She married Robert Eger December 7, 1963 and lived on his family farm where they started their family.  They had four children:  Laura Lea (Dean), Lisa, Blayne (Caroline), and Lance (Tara). 

Her 5 grandchildren were the light of her life.  Lexa (Matt), Mackenzie (Clay), Kade, Jordan, and Mason. 

She is survived by her sister Bernice and many nieces and nephews. 

She is predeceased by her husband Robert; her brothers James, Gordon, Stanley, and Lawrence; her sisters Elva and Laura; sisters-in-law Dolores, Hilma, and Doreen; and brothers-in-law Earl and Anthony. 

Elaine had a wonderful sense of humour and was always ready with a witty remark.  She was curious about many different cuisines and was a great cook and baker. She was in her element cooking and baking for and visiting with her grandchildren and children.  She was the most loyal mother and grandmother you could find. 

Mom had an amazing ability to listen to us and help guide us.  Mom’s wisdom, patience, and guidance were given unconditionally and that loss leaves a massive void in our lives.

 

A private family service will be held at a later date.
