Karen. I am devastated to hear this news. You will be so missed. I am thankful for the memories I do have and will reflect fondly. You were one of my favorite people to work with. Winderlude Ice Festival, Bikinis for Breast Cancer, Ice Magic & World Cup all at Lake Louise, were always even more fun with you involved. I always knew that things would be organized and that we'd have a blast and a lot of laughs. Our biggest thing in common was our passion for ski resort events and it was always great to share stories and ideas. This winter will not be the same without you, my friend. My condolences to Karen's family and everyone who's lives were touched by her. Until we meet again...

I know Karen from working at the same ski resort. In 2011 when I found myself in need of a place to live, she kindly and generously offered me a room in her home in Canmore. That was when she was just launching Three Two Done! and Bikinis For Breast Cancer. I remember how excited and passionate and energized she was about starting her own business. She went at it hard and it took off and became very successful, very deservedly so. Karen will be dearly missed by so many people. Cancer really sucks and this brutally sad and cruel outcome does too. I hope Bikinis For Breast Cancer will continue as a lasting legacy to her passion and caring. Karen always had a big laugh, a big heart and a ton of energy and drive and that is what I will remember about her. My sincere condolences to her family and all others who knew and loved her.

Karen was one of the best people in all of the Bow Valley. She was dedicated to the community, fiercely passionate about what she did, and gave her full heart into everything she did. I had the pleasure of working with Karen for 2 years, and was always the best person to grab a pint with after a long event. I will truly miss Karen, and thank her for everything she did. She will be missed by the entire valley!

Oh Karen! How could this be? I worked with Karen here at Sunshine when she ran the Events Department. Karen was dedicated, diligent and creative but more than anything she was a common denominator who brought everyone together like family to get the job done no matter what. Karen led us all as a team to successfully pull off some of the largest and most complicated events we’ve had here. She kept the bar high but then she always made it fun. Karen’s energy was in a league of its own. Such a big heart she had; she always took such care of her people including me. We have truly lost one of a kind. My condolences to her family and many friends.

Karen was the most thoughtful person, she let my kids “volunteer” at the Banff marathon with me many years ago when she knew fine well they would be more of a liability! She made them feel so accomplished and gave them the best job of holding the ribbon for the top runners. Super kind when you are in the midst of organizing an event.
A few years later when the Canmore flood happened Karen was quick to reach out to us to help with the flood restoration teams and was a great help.
I’m still trying to wrap my head round how such a strong woman and integral community member was taken from us way too early. So sad.
Much love to the family and close friends ❤️

Our condolences to you Shirley and Lawrence on the loss of Karen. We were shocked as everyone I presume at the sight of her picture in the obituaries. My memories go back to our days in Uplands and the softball teams I coached. Karen was a pleasure to coach and a great friend to her teammates. I remember her running the bases it seemed like on her tiptoes yet she could run like the wind. We are so sorry for her passing. Sending our love,
Janice and Gordon Dumba and Krista

I miss you friend; I’m so heartbroken that I didn’t get to say goodbye. You were a great role model, friend, and the best example of loving and living your passion with fierce determination. I will think of you often when I’m working I am sure, in the mountains you loved, always grateful for your kindness.

Karen, it's incredibly difficult to accept you have left us all here in this world and your soul has gone on to the next journey. You were such a bright, spitfire of a personalty that made everyone's life so much better for you being in it. I am sad I never got a chance to say good bye to you but I will assume, you wouldn't have ever wanted to say goodbye. Italy holds so many find memories of our travels which I will always hold dear. Our trips to the French riviera, Croatia, Slovenia and more than anything, time spent living together in Regina or out at the cabin in Kimberley, those memories will always be treasured. You were like my big, older sister. The one that would say it how it was, you always knew best and were stubborn as hell. Somehow I feel with that stubborn personality, you are already delegating on the otherside and no doubt coming through to many of us in signs of your presence. I miss you. I love you. Thank you for being apart of my life and making memories. All my love to your mom Shirley, to your brother, to all of your family, and to all of your friends, near and far, even those you worked with briefly as I know you would have left a lasting impression just the same. Your departure is no doubt a massive shock and void in all of our lives. Fly high Karen, you beautiful soul, until we meet again. I hope you can finally drink those ceasars again where you are at!

Karen, you were a great friend and I will miss you forever. I will treasure the memories we made whether in New Zealand, Mexico or Banff. We always had fun. I’m most sorry you left us tied at crib so I can’t say I kicked your butt. Pretty sure that was deliberate on your part. Love you and until we meet again.
