Leo Thorhaug It's with heavy hearts the children of Leo Thorhaug announce his peaceful passing on September 7, 2022 (Assiniboia, Saskatchewan). Leo was born on March 5, 1938, the oldest of 10 children to Norton and Yvonne Thorhaug. He started his life on a farm known as the Viking farm. The family later moved to their home farm south of Willow Bunch. Leo attended Dutch Hollow school and later school in Willow Bunch. He helped out with chores around the farm and had fun playing with his siblings. When Leo was older he loved giving whisker rubs and had great joy teasing his family and friends. Leo moved to his own place near St. Victor in 1958 and started farming and ranching. He would later marry Darlene Drouin on May 18, 1974, and they welcomed their son Ryan on March 15, 1978, and their daughter Lyn on March 30, 1981. Leo had many hobbies including curling with various teams from St. Victor, square dancing with the St. Victor Squares, and playing bridge and crib games. He also enjoyed going to auction sales where he would come home with many treasures. In addition to farming and ranching Leo took over a school bus route driving kids to Willow Bunch school for many years. He was also involved in many committees: 4-H member and leader, Willow Bunch Curling Club, and various agricultural and recreation boards. He was predeceased by: his parents Norton and Yvonne Thorhaug, his wife Darleen (nee Drouin), brother Larry Thorhaug, mother and father-in-law Ruth and George Drouin. Leo is survived by: his son Ryan and his wife Krystal and their children, Pacey, Daycee, and Kaedley; daughter Lyn and her children Preston and Nickolas. He is also survived by his siblings: Marcel Thorhaug (Bev), Anne Heit (Bob), Don Thorhaug (Jean), Vivian Olsson (Kurt), Wayne Thorhaug (Mad), Ken Thorhaug (Dodi), Val Thorhaug, Ron Thorhaug (Patsy). He is also survived by sister-in-law Dawn Thorhaug. Ryan and Lyn would like to thank the staff at the Assiniboia Long Term Care facility for the care given to their Dad.
