Our condolences to the Batty family. I have many fond memories of Bill over the years I lived in Assiniboia. Bill was a good man, while he was raising his family, he helped friends of his kids grow up too! I swear he could draw the 4 foot with his eyes closed. Rest in peace Bill.

Condolences from St John's Lodge #106 and the whole Masonic family. Bills presence at each meeting was the glue that helped us do our work. His calm demeanor and soft voice always carried wisdom. Bill is an honored member of his Lodge, along with the rare lifetime membership, Bill holds the rank of Right Worshipful Brother. He is dearly missed.

I remember my dad's stories of curling and playing ball with Bill. Later I remember my mom's stories of how utterly dedicated he was to ensuring that the POW was built. As a kid I always remember his dignity and especially his respect for all the kids in 4-H. There aren't many left in that generation, my condolences to the family. Rest in Peace Bill

Our world has lost another amazing man, husband, father and grandfather. He was gentle man but a force to be recognized with in doing all he could for his family and his community. He became an even more of an importance to us when his son, Alan married my sister, Patti and as a grandfather to their amazing children. Our love, thoughts and prayers go out to Ruth, Alan and Patti, Glenn and Bonnie, Darlene and Kevin and all their families.
All our love,
Martha, Don and family

Bill Batty was a friend and fellow volunteer for many years. I have a great deal of respect for both Bill and Ruth. Without his hard work and dedication the Prince of Wales may not have become a reality. Bill served on the executive of the CIA with me for over 18 years. Bill was one of 5 key people who started the Spring Fever Lotto. From our kick-off fundraiser of a steak and lobster dinner, to annual Winner’s Dinners, Bill was there every step of the way. He was one of a handful of volunteers who “took the lotto phone” once a week, and on many weekends. He organised groups to “do Bingos” in Moose Jaw. He was there for every wacky fund raising idea we had, from a Chinese Circus, to a book and Art Auction, to organizing a Polka-Fest. Bill was one of the happiest, cheeriest people I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face. I think his happiness was based on his family and the strength they gave him. He was a very content man. Ruth was always behind him helping out 100%. Saskatchewan is based on “volunteerism”. Bill was one of the best. He was proud of his community and always went above and beyond to make Assiniboia a better place.
