Obituary of Cassidy Grimm

Cassidy Joy Grimm

Our precious and cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed tragically in an accident south of Swift Current on Aug.23, 2023.

Cassidy was born in Penticton, BC August 3, 2000.  The third child to her parents Dion and Tammy Grimm. She lived her first 3 years in Osoyoos, BC and then moved to Creston, BC for 5 years and then to Hodgeville, SK. She enjoyed many activities over the years including soccer, baseball, figure skating, piano, ukulele, gymnastics, dance, volleyball, badminton, track and cross country. She spent many summers serving and caring for campers and staff at West Bank Bible Camp.

Cassidy recently graduated with Great Distinction from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Education and had just begun her career in teaching.  Her goal was to build into her students and make their lives richer. She had the opportunity already to work with fellow teachers and had learned and contributed so much in such a short time.

Some of her favourite things were Christmas, penguins, reading and writing books, board games, puzzles, baking, soccer and Lake Livin’.  Her faith in Jesus as her Saviour helped her through many challenging times and she would want each of you to know that God is the only way through this world with any chance of true Joy!

She enjoyed painting, finding special rocks, river walks and yes even on frozen lakes in bare feet and she truly enjoyed traditions especially around holidays.  Cassidy was always the push behind having fun, and she truly believed that Life was Beautiful!

Her amazing life offered her many things to be proud of but most recently it would be writing her first book, graduating with great distinction after many years of dedication and then buying her first home. It was only hers for a few short months but she had already made it her home and a place of sanctuary for herself but mostly for others.  A place where people could come and find rest and then Joy.

“For you have rescued me from death; you have kept my feet from slipping.  So now I can walk in your presence, O God, in your life giving light” Cassidy loved fiercely and will be missed deeply.

She is forever cherished by her parents Dion and Tammy Grimm. Her siblings Joshua (Emma Jane) Grimm, Kaitlyn (Joshua) Chambers, and Emmanuel Grimm. Her treasured niece Ellisyn Grimm. Her grandparents Marlene Grimm, Garry and Barbara Grimm, Mark and Donna Ruggaber. Her Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and many caring and loving friends.

A Celebration of Cassidy’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Kelstern Community Church with Pastor Ralph Gliege officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
