Just now I am remembering Allen and Audrey and the McCrea family from childhood. On any social occasion Allen could be counted on to liven up the room with a twinkle in his eye and a story at the ready in case an opportunity should present. What other child had the great good fortune to sneak quietly into a corner and listen to a couple of the all time great story tellers swap yarns, and indeed, go away contemplating how that could all possibly be true! Under it all was a man who had a heart of gold, and was a true and faithful friend, and neighbour. I think I speak for my siblings as well when I say we share your loss, and maybe it just got a little livlier on "the other side". I wish I could be there with you all for cookies and milk, and to swap a story or two in memory of Allen. My love and prayers are with you all.

Allen always used to say "...when I die I'm having my bankers as pallbearers! They carried me when I was alive, they might as well carry me when I'm gone"! I've never forgotten that and shared that story many times over the years. What a great guy! My sincerest condolences to the family. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Allen cashing in. He was a original gem of the south country! He always had a smile to pass onto anyone who willing to receive one from him.
