Obituary of Yvon Bouvier

Yvon Bouvier passed away at the Foyer d'Youville in Gravelbourg, SK on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the age of 82 years. Yvon was born on January 20, 1934, in Rockglen, SK, which had the nearest hospital to Lisieux, where his parents homesteaded. When he was 6 years old, the family moved to Gravelbourg so that the children could attend the catholic schools. After finishing school, Yvon moved to B.C., where he worked for several years. He returned to Gravelbourg in 1973, where Yvon and his brothers decided to go into farming. In 1999, Yvon sold his land to his nephew Maurice, but still took part in helping out at harvest time. Yvon's family who have passed are his parents Xiste and Hélène (nee Boisjoly) Bouvier; sisters Juliette (Paul) Martin and Agnès Jones; brother Roméo Bouvier. Left to grieve is his sister Jeannine Bouvier; brother Gilbert (Louise) Bouvier; brother Alain (Lucille) Bouvier; brother-in-law Pierre Jones; sister-in-law Beverly Bouvier; and numerous nieces and nephews. Prayer Ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Co-Cathedral, Gravelbourg, SK. Private interment of Yvon's ashes will take place after Prayers, followed by a time of lunch and fellowship at the Gravelbourg Parish Hall. Memorial donations in memory of Yvon to the Foyer d'Youville Foundation, Box 810, Gravelbourg, SK S0H 1X0, are greatly appreciated.
