Obituary of Bert Rudy KOLISH

Berthold Rudy Kolish of Mossbank, SK, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at the age of 84 years. Bert was born in Vantage, SK on August 21, 1928, to Rudolf and Olga Kolish, the third of five boys and a twin to Richard. Bert married Anita Ebel on February 16, 1957, and they moved to the Kolish family farm in the Mossbank district where they raised five children: Erwin, Eric, Jonathan, Marlene and Darlene. In 1980, Bert and Anita retired to the town of Mossbank. Bert loved farming, gardening, flowers, woodworking and he especially enjoyed working with oak. He also found great joy building things, and was especially proud of the steam engine and threshing machine that he built to scale. Bert was a member of the Pucksters skating group in Mossbank and would often take part in their morning skates at the rink. He was passionate about the Mossbank Museum, a proud member of the Cornerstone Gospel Church, and was a very generous supporter of many charities, especially Glad Tidings Bible Camp, where Bert and Anita spent many hour volunteering. Bert will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Bert is survived by his loving family, wife of 55 years Anita (nee Ebel); son Erwin (Pauline); son Eric (Valerie); son Jonathan (Mona, Holly); daughter Marlene (Brent) Healey; daughter Darlene (Randall) Dyck; grandchildren Shane (Sheryl) Kolish, Erin (Thuan) Chau, Troy (Bretlynn) Kolish, Candice (Clayton) McDonald, Travis Kolish, Michael (Crystal) Healey, Benjamin Healey, Bradley Dyck, Kurtis Dyck great grandsons Rylan Kolish, Cameron McDonald; brother Richard (Pat) Kolish; sisters-in-law Betty Kolish, Alice Kolish; many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and his family in Germany. Predeceased by his father Rudolf Kolish; mother Olga (nee Radfelder); step father John Kruger; brothers Ernie, Bob, Ed; sisters-in-law Frances, Martha. Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2013, at the Cornerstone Gospel Church in Mossbank, with Pastor Barry Gammie and Pastor Marty Johnson officiating. Pallbearers were Shane Kolish, Troy Kolish, Bradley Dyck, Kurtis Dyck, Michael Healey and Benjamin Healey. Interment took place at the Mossbank Cemetery.
