Obituary of Tim Dlouhy

Tim Dlouhy

Sept. 6, 1962 – Nov. 6, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Timothy Gene Dlouhy at the age of 60 years. Tim, by far the greatest teacher of our lives, is the heart and soul of his entire Family. Throughout his amazing life with the family he was born into, and with the life he made with Penny, Jordan and Judd, he embraced the concept of living life to its fullest in every possible way. His impact continues and will continue to bring people together in joy and in fun with his long-held belief that “we are not on a trial run.” He awakened every day with living in mind. At the age of 58, Tim was diagnosed with ALS, and he showed every human in his world what the true lived meaning of courage is. Tim and his ‘way of being’ created a vibrant web, interwoven with family, friends, people and leaders in his community and province. His bonds to the people in this web go well beyond what anyone could imagine, and his contributions to many organizations throughout his communities are too great to grasp. Tim’s biggest joy in life was having all of the family together. He lived for seeing us all together and having us under one big roof. He was always busy and always teaching someone something. Tim loved to stay active and never sat still, always busy hunting, quadding, skiing, boating, travelling, coaching, golfing, involving himself in the community, fundraising, cooking, BBQing, working, and mentoring. Whatever he was doing, he wanted everyone else to be enjoying it with him. During his last two years, he continued to stay engaged in all that he loved. He remained steadfastly involved with his family in all their businesses to his very last moments, continuously mentoring and coaching Jordan and Judd into their roles. His expressiveness and his will to work never wavered.  As tributes have poured in, it is clear he had many brother and sister relationships, and as one dear cousin wrote, “Tim was the definition of giving without having to take . . . He will be an amazing addition to the souls in heaven.” As one dear friend expressed, “We all have our stories, believe me, and there is not one of us that has a better story, because Tim treated us all the same.”

Tim will be dearly missed by his wife Penny, daughter Jordan (Gary), son Judd (Sandy), granddaughter Violet and grand dogs Bentley and Blue; his mother Louise (Del) Mohl, and sisters Jody (Keith) Nelson, and Gia (Alan) Jane; Penny’s siblings: Rick (June) Thompson, Doug (Diane) Thompson, Judy (Rick) Skulmoski, Joy (Kevin) MacDonald; and his beloved Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews. He is laid to rest beside his father Reg, cousin Shaun, and his Uncles John and Gene at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Langbank, Saskatchewan.
